Gary Cole Joins Dunagan, Morton, Reed, et al. for London’s August: Osage County

Film and television star Gary Cole will play Steve Heidebrecht in the London production of Tracy Letts’ multi award-winning drama, August: Osage County, which will play the National’s Lyttelton Theatre, November 21-January 21.

The show, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, concerns a missing patriarch and the reunion of the Weston clan who must deal with his disappearance in rural Oklahoma. It has won numerous awards this year including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Tony Award, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Drama Desk Award.

As previously announced, Tony winners Deanna Dunagan and Rondi Reed will reprise their roles as Violet Weston and her sister Mattie Fae Aiken, while Tony Award nominee Amy Morton will once again play Barbara Fordham. The rest of the cast will include Ian Barford (Little Charles), Kimberly Guerrero (Johnna Longwell), Mariann Mayberry (Karen Weston), Michael McGuire (Beverly Weston), Sally Murphy (Ivy Weston), Paul Vincent O’Connor (Charlie Aiken), Jeff Perry (Bill Fordham), Molly Ranson (Jean Fordham), and Troy West (Deon Gibeau).

The National Theatre production will feature the original Chicago and Broadway design team: Todd Rosenthal (sets), Ana Kuzmanic (costumes), Ann G. Wrightson (lights), Richard Woodbury (sound), David Singer (original music) and Chuck Coyl (fight choreography).
