The West End production of Mamma Mia! will celebrate its previously reported move to the Novello Theatre with a gala performance in support of BBC Children in Need on Wednesday, September 12.

The night will include special guest appearances by broadcasting veteran Sir Terry Wogan and BBC Radio 2 presenters Vanessa Feltz, Anneka Rice and Penny Smith.

The Novello will be the third London theater for Mamma Mia!, which originally opened at the Prince Edward Theatre on April 6, 1999, before transferring to the Prince of Wales Theatre on June 3, 2004. Performances at the Prince of Wales will end on September 1, with the musical’s first Novello performance set for September 6.

Mamma Mia!, which uses the songs of ABBA, music & lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

The cast is currently led by Sally Ann Triplett as Donna Sheridan, Joanna Monro as Rosie and Kim Ismay as Tanya, with Gary Milner as Sam Carmichael, Neil Roberts as Harry Bright, James Gaddas as Bill Austin, Charlotte Wakefield as Sophie Sheridan, Andreas Gyllander as Sky, Abiola Ogunbiyi as Ali, Tasha Taylor Johnson as Lisa, Steven Oliver as Pepper and Liam Doyle as Eddie. At certain performances, the role of Donna Sheridan is played by Claire Poyzer. Helen Hobson will replace Sally Ann Triplett as Donna beginning September 24.
