Adam Levy, Rachael Stirling, Paul Shelley Set For Mike Bartlett’s New Version of Medea

Rachael Stirling will star in the title role of Mike Bartlett’s new version of Euripides’ Medea, to be co-presented by Headlong, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow and Watford Palace Theatre. Bartlett will also direct the production.

Joining Stirling will be Paul Brendan (Workman), Lu Corfield (Sarah), Christopher Ettridge (Carter), Adam Levy (Jason), Amelia Lowdell (Pam), and Paul Shelley (Andrew).

The design team includes Ruari Murchison (sets and costumes), Johanna Town (lighting), and Tom Mills (composition and sound).

The show will have its Scottish premiere at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, September 27-October 13, before playing at Watford Palace Theatre in London, October 16-27, and then embarking on a UK tour to Newcastle, Cardiff, Warwick, Richmond and Exeter.

Stirling’s stage and screen credits include The Recruiting Officer, An Ideal Husband, Snow White and the Huntsman, and many others. She has been nominated for two Olivier Awards.

Bartlett’s credits include Cock, Chariots of Fire, Earthquakes in London, and Love Love Love, among others.
