Howard Brenton’s Anne Boelyn to Launch U.K. Tour in 2012

The Shakespeare’s Globe production of Howard Brenton’s Anne Boleyn will launch a U.K. tour in early 2012, co-produced by English Touring Theatre, according to a report on the website for the U.K. magazine The Stage. John Dove has directed the production.

The historical drama centers on Henry VIII’s notorious second wife, and her early years with the monarch and her fascination with some of the most dangerous ideas of her day. The piece premiered at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2010 and has been part of the theater’s current season.

Casting, along with tour dates and venues, will be announced in the near future.
