360, with Anthony Hopkins, Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, to Open London Film Festival

The movie 360, starring Anthony Hopkins, Jude Law, and Rachel Weisz, will open the London Film Festival on Wednesday, October 12. Fernando Meirelles has directed the film from an original screenplay by Tony nominee Peter Morgan.

360 is inspired by the 1900 play Reigen which in turn inspired Schnitzler’s La Ronde and follows pairs of characters and their sexual encounters.

Hopkins won an Academy Award for The Silence of the Lambs and received Oscar nominations for The Remains of the Day, Nixon, and Amistad. His stage credits include Equus on Broadway and Pravda and King Lear in the U.K.

Law received a Tony nomination for his performance in the title role of Hamlet. He received Academy Award nominations for his performances in The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain, with his many other movie credits including Sherlock Holmes, The Aviator, Closer, and Breaking and Entering.

Weisz won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Blanche DuBois in the West End production of A Streetcar Named Desire and appeared Off-Broadway in The Shape of Things. She won the Oscar for The Constant Gardner, which was directed by Meirelles.

Morgan is best known for writing the play and screenplay to Frost/Nixon, as well as the screenplay for The Queen and the teleplay for HBO’s The Special Relationship. He is also working on a biopic of the rock group Queen.
