Bryony Lavery’s Beautiful Burnout to Play London Following Edinburgh Fringe

Beautiful Burnout, by Tony nominee Bryony Lavery, will play London’s York Hall Leisure Center next month following a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, according to Whatsonstage.com. The London mounting of the show will be presented in association with the Barbican Theatre, September 16-October 2.

Scott Graham and Steven Hoggett co-direct the production, which is co-produced by the National Theatre of Scotland and Frantic Assembly. The play is set in a Glasgow gym, and centers on four young men and a “battling lassie,” all seeking the fame and fortune in the boxing ring.

The cast includes Ryan Fletcher, Henry Pettigrew, Taqi Nazeer, Eddie Kay, Vicki Manderson, Lorraine McIntosh and Ewan Stewart. The creative team includes Laura Hopkins (design), Andy Purves (lighting), Carolyn Downing (sound), and Ian William Galloway (video).
