Rupert Goold’s production of Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author, which stars Tony Award winner Ian McDiarmid, will transfer to London’s Gielgud Theatre, September 10-November 8, after it concludes its run at the Chichester Festival on August 30.

The play, which has been updated to the 21st century by Goold and co-adapter Ben Power, also stars Jamie Bower, Eleanor David, Noma Dumezweni, Dyfan Dwyfor, Christine Entwisle, Denise Gough, Jake Harders, Jeremy Joyce, John Mackay, and Robin Pearce.

Goold was recently represented on Broadway by Macbeth, which also originated at Chichester and for which he won the Olivier Award, and will direct the upcoming West End production of Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land. McDiarmid won the Tony Award for Faith Healer.
