London Chicago Production to Close on September 1

The London production of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Bob Fosse’s Chicago, currently playing at the Garrick Theatre, will end its 15-year run on Saturday, September 1. The production features direction by Walter Bobbie, choreography by Ann Reinking, and is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.

As previously reported, Olympic gold medalist figure skater Robin Cousins will join the company on July 17 in the role of lawyer Billy Flynn. The cast is currently led by Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Rachel McDowall as Velma Kelly, Tony Timberlake as Amos Hart and Jasna Ivir as Matron “Mama” Morton.

Chicago opened at the Adelphi Theater on November 18, 1997 before moving to the Cambridge Theatre in 2006 and then the Garrick in 2011.
