Theatre Royal Stratford East to Present A Clockwork Orange Musical; Season Announced

Theatre Royal Stratford East has announced its fall/winter 2011 season.

The schedule includes a new musical version of Anthony Burgess’ futurist portrait of disaffected youth, A Clockwork Orange. Ed DuRante is writing the libretto and Fred Carl is writing the score for the musical that will be directed by Dawn Reid and run September 3 – October 1.

The company’s season will also include Rikki Beadle-Blair’s Shalom Baby (October 20 – November 19), a portrait of a dual religion marriage that begins in 1930s Berlin and continues to modern-day Brooklyn; Stef Smith’s Roadkill (October 28 – November 20), a look at sex-trafficking today; and a new version of Cinderella by Trish Cooke and Robert Hyman, which will run December 3 – January 21.
