Rob Ashford, Daniel Evans, Adrian Lester, Jamie Lloyd Set for Sondheim Concerts at Donmar Warehouse

Rob Ashford and Jamie Lloyd, respectively, will direct the Donmar Warehouse‘s concert versions of the Stephen Sondheim musicals Merrily We Roll Along, featuring Daniel Evans, and Company, featuring Adrian Lester, according to a report in Variety. The performances, to be held on October 31 and November 7 at the Queen’s Theatre, are part of the Company’s Sondheim at 80 celebration.

The theater has also announced that two panel discussions have been added to the schedule of the Sondheim series. Michael Grandage and Sam Mendes are set to appear at Sondheim at the Donmar, to be offered on September 16, which will focus on the theater’s history of producing the composer-lyricist’s work. Sondheim himself is scheduled to appear at the theater on October 11, in a discussion to be moderated by David Benedict.

In related news, additional casting for Passion has been announced. Simon Bailey, David Birrell, Allan Corduner, Ross Dawes, Iwan Lewis, Tim Morgan, and Haydn Oakley will join the previously announced Elena Roger, Scarlett Strallen, and David Thaxton. Lloyd will direct the production, which is scheduled to run September 10 – November 27.
