Kerry Ellis’ Debut Album, Anthems, to Be Released September 13

Kerry Ellis’ debut solo album, Anthems, will be released by Decca on September 13.

The 11-track disc features three selections from Wicked, including “Defying Gravity” and “I’m Not That Girl.” Other selections include “Anthem,” “You Have To Be There,” “Love It When You Call,” “Save Me,” and “Diamonds Are Forever.” Ellis is joined by guitarist Brian May, from the band Queen, on the disc, as well as a full orchestra. The songs have been arranged by May and Steve Sidwell.

Ellis is currently starring in Oliver! in the West End. Among her other stage credits are Wicked in both the West End production and on Broadway, as well as Queen’s We Will Rock You, in which she originated the role of Meatloaf, and Chess in Concert. As a recording artist, she previously released an EP Wicked in Rock, on which she and May also collaborated.
