Derek Jacobi, Ron Cook, Paul Jesson, et al. Set for Michael Grandage’s King Lear, NT Broadcast, U.K. Tour Planned

Additional casting has been announced for Michael Grandage’s production of King Lear, to run December 3-February 5 at the Donmar Warehouse with Sir Derek Jacobi in the title role. The show will be broadcast as part of NT Live series on February 3.

The company will also feature Pippa Bennett-Warner (Cordelia), Ron Cook (Fool), Michael Hadley (Earl of Kent), Paul Jesson (Earl of Gloucester), Gina McKee (Goneril), and Justine Mitchell (Regan).

The production will be designed by Christopher Oram and have lighting design by Neil Austin and original music and sound design by Adam Cork.

A UK tour of the production will begin at Venue Cymru, Llandudno on February 21, and will include engagements at Belfast Opera House, Glasgow Theatre Royal, Milton Keynes Theatre, The Lowry, Salford, Richmond Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, and Hall for Cornwall.
