Mike Bartlett to Write and Direct New Version of Medea

Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett will write and direct a new version of Euripidies’ Medea, to be co-presented by Headlong, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow and Watford Palace Theatre. Casting will be announced at a later date.


The show will have its Scottish premiere at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, September 27-October 13, before playing at Watford Palace Theatre in London, October 16-27, and then embarking on a UK tour to Newcastle, Cardiff, Warwick, Richmond and Exeter.


Bartlett is best known for his play Cock, which is currently running in New York at The Duke on 42nd Street, and Chariots of Fire, which begins a run at London’s Gielgud Theatre on June 22.
