Christopher Renshaw will direct a site-specific revival of the musical Taboo, to run September 7-December 23 at the new London clubbing venue Brixton Club House, according to Whatsonstage.com. No casting has been announced.

The musical — which premiered in London in 2002 and moved to Broadway in a revised edition in 200 — explores the experiences of performance artist and designer Leigh Bowery and George O’Dowd, the young man who will become the musician Boy George, as they arrive on the 1980s London club scene. The score features original songs by Boy George and snippets of hits by Culture Club.

In addition to directing the original production of Taboo, Renshaw is best known for helming The King and I.
