Sharon Gless to Star in A Round-heeled Woman in London

Stage and screen star Sharon Gless will star in Jane Browse’s adaptation of Jane Juska’s A Round-heeled Woman, to run October 18 – November 20 at London’s Riverside Studios, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Browse will direct the piece, which will be designed by Matthew Wright and feature lighting design by Nick Richings.

The play is about the sexual liberation of a retired school teacher who has not had sex in 30 years, and who sets out to remedy the situation by placing an ad in the personals in the New York Review of Books.

Gless starred in the world premiere of the play at San Francisco’s Z Space and later performed it at GableStage in Florida. Her stage credits also include Cahoots, Watch on the Rhine, Misery, and Chapter Two. She is best known for her film and television work, which includes Cagney & Lacey, The Trials of Rosie O’Neill, House Calls, Switch, Queer as Folk, Burn Notice, and Hannah Free.
