The Tricycle Theatre has announced programming and preliminary casting for its summer and early fall season.

Billy Roche will direct his play Lay Me Down Softly to run July 11 - August 6. The piece, which focuses on the shady world of Delaney's Travelling Roadshow, will feature Simone Kirby, Gary Lydon, Michael O'Hagan, Pagan McGrath, Anthony Morris, and Dermot Murphy. The production will have design by Bui Bolg, lighting design by Paul Keogan, and sound and projection/video design by Mick Egan.

The Tricycle will also present the Lyric Theatre Belfast's production of Owen McCafferty's The Absence of Women, to run September 13 - October 8. Rachel O'Riordan will direct the play about two labourers from Belfast who face the end of their lives in a London hostel, going over the present as well as the past. The creative team will include Stuart Marshall (production design), James Whiteside (lighting design), and Ivan Birthistle and Vincent Doherty (sound and projection/video design). Casting will be announced shortly.
