Works by Mick Foley, Daniel Kitson, Anthony Rapp, Henry Rollins Set for 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
The full line-up has been announced for this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, running August 3-27 in Scotland.
Among the highlights are a double bill of David Greig and David Harrower’s The Letter of Last Resort and Good With People, which will play the Traverse Theatre from August 4-26. A co-production of the Traverse with Tricycle Theatre and Datum Point/Paines Plough, the work will star Blythe Duff, Belinda Lang, and Simon Chandler.
Also at the Traverse, Rob Drummond will present Bullet Catch, a piece about the life of magician William Henderson, the conclusion of which is the attempted catching of a bullet shot by an audience member, a stunt which has killed at least 12 illusionists.
Spoken word artist Henry Rollins will present his newest work, running August 8-10 at The Queen’s Hall. From August 8-11 at The Assembly Rooms, pro-wrestler turned author turned comic Mick Foley will present a piece based on his experiences escaping the shadow of WWE. Daniel Kitson will present his newest stand-up comedy show, Where Once Was Wonder from August 5-26 at The Stand Comedy Club.
Musical productions include Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins (Princeton University Players); Baby Wants Candy: The Completely Improvised Full Band Musical!; and multiple productions of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater’s Spring Awakening, among others.
As previously reported, Anthony Rapp will bring his one-man show Without You to the festival prior to a run at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory.
