Ramin Karimloo will play the title role in a special 25th anniversary celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, to be performed at Royal Albert Hall in October, according to a report on the website for the U.K. magazine, The Stage. Gillian Lynne, who choreographed the original production, will stage the special event.

Karimloo has previously played the role in the musical in the West End. In addition, he has played the Phantom in Love Never Dies, a sequel to the original that it opened in 2010.

Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. In addition to the production playing at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre, the musical can be seen at the West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre and in Las Vegas at Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.

Full casting and creative team for the October celebration will be announced shortly.
