Brian Conley, Neil Morrissey Set for U.K. Oliver! Tour

Brian Conley and Neil Morrissey will alternate in the role of Fagin in a U.K. tour of Oliver!, beginning with an engagement at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, December 10-20, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. The tour is expected to continue through March 2013 and will play Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Dublin, Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton, Edinburgh, Norwich, Plymouth and Newcastle, among other cities.

Conley received an Olivier Award nomination for his performance in Jolson. Among his other West End credits are Hairspray and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He is currently appearing in the U.K. tour of the Neil Diamond musical Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show.

Morrissey may be best known from the British television series, Men Behaving Badly. His West End credits include Acorn Antiques and Guys and Dolls.

Featuring book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, the show, based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, centers on an orphan’s difficult path to finding a family in nineteenth century London. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
