The Finborough Theatre has announced the plays it will present over the summer as part of its ongoing 30th anniversary celebration, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com.

On the theater’s schedule is the world premiere of Peter Nichols’ Lingua Franca (July 13 – August 7), which follows an innocent abroad as he travels from National Service in South-East Asia to 1950’s Florence. The play is based on a leading character in Nichols’ Privates on Parade and inspired by the writer’s own experiences. This production will play concurrently with JM Barrie’s 1908 comedy What Every Woman Knows, which will be offered in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the author’s birth.

The summer season at the Finborough will open with the world premiere of Bekah Brunstetter’s Miss Lilly Gets Boned or The Loss of All Elephant Elders (June 22 – July 11) and it will conclude with the London premiere of Michael Healey’s The Drawer Boy (August 10 – September 4), which will be presented concurrently with the European premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks’ In the Blood (August 15-30).
