Sister Act to Play Final Performance at London Palladium on October 30

Sister Act will play its final performance at London Palladium on October 30. The production, directed by Peter Schneider, opened at the theater on June 2, 2009. As previously reported, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of The Wizard of Oz will begin performances at the Palladium on March 29, 2011.

Sister Act features a score by Alan Menken, a book Cheri and Bill Steinkellner and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The creative team includes Klara Zieglerova (scenic design), Lez Brotherston (costume design), Mick Potter (sound design) and Natasha Katz (lighting design).

The company features Patina Miller as Deloris Van Cartier, Sheila Hancock as Mother Superior, Julia Sutton, Ian Lavender and, beginning May 31, Simon Webbe.

Sister Act was previously due to finish its run at the Palladium on January 1, 2011. The musical is looking for a new West End home, and is also aiming for a Broadway opening in spring 2011, a UK tour in autumn 2011 and various international productions.
