Celebrity Autobiography to Play Edinburgh, New Orleans, Pittsburgh; John Goodman, Anthony Mackie, Ryan Reynolds, Michael Urie et al. to Perform

Eugene Pack’s Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words will play engagements in Pittsburgh and New Orleans, in addition to performing as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, according to a report in The New York Times.

Lee Merriweather and Anthony Rapp are scheduled to appear in the Pittsburgh edition of the show, which will run June 3-12. The New Orleans performance, to be held on July 11, will feature Ryan Reynolds, John Goodman, and Anthony Mackie. Michael Urie and George Wendt are among the artists who will be performing in the Edinburgh engagement, which will run August 5-30.

Celebrity Autobiography features a line-up of rotating performers who interpret the actual words and stories written by the famous and the infamous, in both solo and ensemble “chamber” pieces culled from the autobiographies of celebrities. The words of such personalities as Elizabeth Taylor, Britney Spears, Madonna, Ivana Trump, Vanna White, Star Jones,’N Sync, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Loni Anderson, Diana Ross, Kathie Lee Gifford, Miley Cyrus and Debbie Reynolds have all been performed in previous editions of the show.

As previously announced, Cheyenne Jackson, Kristen Johnston, John Cameron Mitchell, Bruce Vilanch, and B.D. Wong are among the performers who will be seen in a special Gay Pride edition of the show that will be offered on June 26 at the Gramercy Theatre.

There will also be two performances of the show on June 7 offered at its usual home, The Triad Theatre, featuring Scott Adsit, Matthew Broderick, Mario Cantone, Dick Cavett, Jackie Hoffman, Kristen Johnston, Pack, Dayle Reyfel, and Alan Zweibel. A performance on June 28 at the Triad will feature Rachel Dratch and Carol Kane, along with Adsit, Johnston, Pack, Reyfel, Vilanch, and Zweibel.
