Rupert Everett, Diana Rigg, Kara Tointon, Simon Ward, et al. to Star in West End Pygmalion

Complete casting has been announced for George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion at the West End’s Garrick Theatre, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. As previously reported, Philip Prowse is directing the production, which will begin previews on May 12 in anticipation of an official opening on May 25.

Shaw’s comedy focuses on what happens when linguistics professor Henry Higgins works to transform Eliza Doolittle, a common flower girl, into a proper lady.

The production will feature Rupert Everett as Professor Henry Higgins, Kara Tointon as Eliza Doolitle, Diana Rigg as Mrs Higgins, Simon Ward as Alfred P. Doolitle, Peter Eyre as Colonel Pickering, Peter Sandys Clarke as Freddy Eynsford Hill, along with Marty Cruickshank and Roberta Taylor
