Simon Russell Beale, Jonathan Groff, Anna Massey to Star in West End Revival of Deathtrap

Simon Russell Beale will play Sidney Bruhl, Jonathan Groff will play Clifford Anderson and Anna Massey will play Helga Ten Dorpe in a West End revival of Ira Levin’s thriller Deathtrap, which will begin previews at the Noel Coward Theatre on August 21 in anticipation of an official opening on September 7. Matthew Warchus will direct the production.
Beale is currently starring in London Assurance at the National Theatre. Groff, who will be making his West End debut, received a Tony nomination for his performance in Spring Awakening and will be guest starring on FOX’s Glee this spring. Massey will be returning to the West End after a 12-year absence. Among her stage credits are A Hard Heart and Mary Stuart. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
The creative team will include Rob Howell (production design), High Vanstone (lighting design) and Gary Yershon (original music).
