Eileen Atkins Wins BAFTA TV Award for Cranford

Dame Eileen Atkins has won the British Academy (BAFTA) Television Award as Best Actress for her work in Cranford.

Atkins' recent London credits include There Came a Gypsy Riding and The Sea. She is a four-time Tony Award nominee for The Retreat From Moscow, Indiscretions, Vivat, Vivat, Regina! and The Killing of Sister George, and most recently starred on Broadway in Doubt..

Other BAFTA winners included actors Andrew Garfield, James Corden, and Harry Hill, and such programs as The Mark of Cain,The Street, Britz, Holby City, The Tower, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Harry Hill's TV Burp, and Heroes.
