Zawe Ashton, Alex Beckett to Join Alison Steadman in Michael Frayn’s Here

Zawe Ashton and Alex Beckett will join the previously reported Alison Steadman in Michael Frayn’s Here, to run April 19 – May 12 at Rose Theatre, Kingston. Lisa Spirling will direct the production, which will be designed by Polly Sullivan.

The play centers on a couple (played by Ashton and Beckett) beginning to start their lives together in a studio apartment, and examines how their pasts inform their present and how their choices in the present will impact their future. Alison Steadman plays Pat – the woman downstairs.

Ashton’s film and television credits include Fresh , Misfits, Dreams of a Life, and St Trinians 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold. Beckett was last seen in BBC4’s Twenty Twelve.


Steadman won an Olivier Award for her work in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Among her other stage credits are Blithe Spirit and the original production of Abigail’s Party. Her film and television work includes Shirley Valentine, Life Is Sweet, Topsy Turvy, The Singing Detective, Pride and Prejudice, and Gavin & Stacey.
