Sally Dexter, Forbes Masson, Brian Protheroe Set for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in London

Sally Dexter, Forbes Masson, and Brian Protheroe have been cast in the new stage version of C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. As previously reported, Rupert Goold, who is creating the piece, and Michael Fentiman will co-direct the production, which will run May 8 – September 9 in a theater tent in Kensington Gardens.

Dexter, who will play the the White Witch, earned an Olivier Award nomination for her performance as Nancy in the Sam Mendes-directed production of Oliver!. Among her other West End credits are Billy Elliot The Musical and Sister Act, as well as King Lear and Troilus and Cressida at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).

Masson, who will play Mr. Tumnus, has recently appeared in Romeo and Juliet and Morte D’Arthur with the RSC He also writes and stars, alongside Alan Cumming, in The High Life. Protheroe, who will play the Professor, has among his stage credits the recent revival of Broken Glass and the musical version of The Lord of the Rings.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe centers on four children’s adventures in the magical land Narnia.
