Patricia Hodge, Nicholas Le Prevost to Star in Dandy Dick on U.K. Tour

Patricia Hodge and Nicholas Le Prevost will star in Arthur Wing Pinero’s Dandy Dick, which will launch a U.K. tour with an engagement at Theatre Royal Brighton running June 28 – July 7, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Christopher Luscombe will direct the production, which also plans a West End run.

Other tour cities include Richmond, Aylesbury, Bromley, Woking, Glasgow, York, Birmingham and Manchester.

The play centers on Reverend Augustin Jedd (Le Prevost) a pillar of Victorian respectability, who preaches regularly against the evils of horseracing and gambling, but finds a a visit from his sister, Georgiana (Hodge), leading him to risk all at the races, much against his better judgement.

Hodge won the Olivier for her performance in Money. Her many other stage credits include Noises Off, The Clean House, His Dark Materials, Heartbreak House, Boeing-Boeing, Calendar Girls. Her film and television credits include Betrayal, Rumpole of the Bailey, and Jemima Shore Investigates.

Le Prevost received an Olivier Award nomination for My Fair Lady in 2002. Among his recent stage credits are The Misanthrope, The Real Inspector Hound and The Critic, The Last Cigarette, and How the Other Half Loves. In addition, he has appeared in such films as Shakespeare in Love, Clockwise , and Wednesday.
