Comedian Marcus Brigstocke play King Arthur to Jodie Prenger’s Lady of the Lake in the U.K. tour of Monty Python’s Spamalot, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. The tour, as previously announced, will launch from the New Wimbledon Theatre, where it will run May 29-June 5.

Based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in their quest to find the religious relic — and features a chorus line of dancing divas (with serfs), flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits, and a legless knight.

The musical has a book and lyrics by original Python Eric Idle, who also co-wrote the music with John Du Prez. Both the Broadway and West End productions featured direction by Mike Nichols and scenic and costume design by Tim Hatley.

Brigstocke was recently seen in the West End in his latest show, God Collar. He is a BBC 4 radio regular on such programs as The Now Show and Just a Minute. His television credits include Argumental, The Late Edition, I’ve Never Seen Star Wars The 11 O’Clock Show and Have I Got News for You.
