London’s Billy Elliot to Bring 19 Billys Together for Fifth Birthday; Rhys Yeomans Joins Cast in Title Role

The London production of Billy Elliot the Musical at the West End Victoria Palace Theatre will celebrate its fifth birthday on March 31 with a special finale that is choreographed for the occasion to include 19 past, present, and future Billy Elliots.

It has also been announced that twelve-year-old Rhys Yeomans will play the title role in the musical beginning March 24, alternating in the part with with Dean-Charles Chapman, Oliver Gardner, and Tom Holland.

The principal cast also includes Joanna Riding (Mrs Wilkinson), Joe Caffrey (Dad), Craig Gallivan (Tony), Ann Emery (Grandma), David Nellist (George), Sean Kingsley (Mr Braithwaite), Samantha Seager (Dead Mum), and Barnaby Meredith (Older Billy). They are joined by Connor Doyle, Connor Kelly, and Jake Pratt and from April 26, Joe Massey, who will alternate the role of Billy’s best friend Michael and Emily Smith, Fleur Houdijk, and Francesca Mango who alternate the role of Debbie.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, the show tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry, and choreography by Peter Darling.
