Neil Stuke to Star in Menier Chocoalte Factory’s Rookery Nook

Stage and television star Neil Stuke will headline the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of Ben Travers’ farce Rookery Nook, to run April 16-June 20. The production, which will open officially on April 29, will be directed by Terry Johnson, with design by Tim Shortall and lighting by Jason Taylor.

Stuke will play Gerald, a newly married playboy, who arrives alone at Rookery Nook and finds a beautiful young girl there who has been thrown out of the house next door and begs to let her stay.

The cast will also include Edward Baker-Duly (Clive), Lynda Barron (Mrs. Levertt), Sarah Woodward (Gertrude), Kellie Shirley (Rhoda), Nick Brimble (Putz), Clara Wilkie (Clara), Mark Hadfield (Harold), and Alan Thompson (Juddy).

Stuke’s stage credits include Boeing Boeing, A Night at the Dogs, Blue/Orange, Mojo, and American Buffalo. He is well known for his role on the BBC One series Game On.

Johnson’s directorial credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Rain Man, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, and Hitchcock Blonde.
