Hayley Atwell, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Ken Stott Set for UK Tour of View from the Bridge

Following a successful West End run, Hayley Atwell, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Ken Stott will star in a UK tour of Arthur Miller’s 1955 play A View from the Bridge, beginning May 19.

The production, which ends its run at the Duke Of York’s Theatre on May 16, is directed by Lindsay Posner, designed by Christopher Oram, with lighting by Peter Mumford. The three-week tour will make stops at The Theatre Royal Brighton, Richmond Theatre, and The King’s Theatre & Theatre Royal Glasgow.

Stott plays Eddie Carbone, a headstrong longshoreman raising Beatrice’s (Mastrantonio) orphaned niece, Catherine (Atwell). When Eddie’s feelings for Catherine develop from paternal protectiveness to sexual desire, his struggle to contain his emotions leads him on a path of self destruction transforming him from a respected, honorable man to a virtual stranger shamed and broken by his own actions.

Atwell recently starred in the films Brideshead Revisited and The Duchess, with theatre credits including Major Barbara, Man of Mode and Women Beware Women. Mastrantonio’s many stage and film credits include Man of La Mancha, Grand Hotel, The Perfect Storm, and Consenting Adults. Stott’s theater credits include Art and God of Carnage, with TV and film roles in Messiah, The Vice, Rebus and Shallow Grave.
