A Reimagined Phantom of the Opera Will Embark On North American Tour

Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group have announced that their new production of the smash hit The Phantom of the Opera will hit the road on a North American tour, beginning in November in Providence, R.I. The producers identify the "newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design" as the "reimagined" elements of this production, which debuted in March 2012 as part of a UK tour. The North American tour will play more than 20 multi-week engagements, to be announced at a later date.

The Phantom of the Opera, based on the classic novel by Gaston Leroux, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary on Broadway. Phantom has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics are by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe) and the book is by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Orchestrations are by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This new production directed by Laurence Connor features choreography by Scott Ambler, set design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by Mick Potter and musical supervision by John Rigby. The production is overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh.
