Landor Theatre to Present Lynn Ahrens’ and Stephen Flaherty’s The Glorious Ones

After winning major acclaim with a revival of Lynn Ahrens’ and Stephen Flaherty’s musical, Ragtime, the Landor Theatre is to present the European premiere of the composing duo’s Off-Broadway musical, The Glorious Ones, to run March 6-April 7.

Set in 17th-century Italy, The Glorious Ones concerns a theater group in the world of commedia dell’arte and theater of the Italian Renaissance. It’s a sung valentine to the actor’s life, with its joys, hardships and sorrows, set during a period when the comic theater was beginning to shed its vulgar roots and evolve toward a greater refinement.

The Glorious Ones reunites the creative team behind Ragtime – director Robert McWhir, designer Martin Thomas, lighting designer Howard Hudson, musical director David Randall, and choreographer is Robbie O’Reilly. Casting will be announced at a later date.
