The play looks at the journey of a musical struggling to reach the stage. Rosenthal based it on his experiences of turning his television play Bar Mitzvah Boy into a musical, which ultimately reached the West End, running just 78 performances.
Conti's many stage credits include Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell, Present Laughter, and They're Playing Our Song. On screen, he has been seen in such films as Shirley Valentine, Reuben, Reuben and Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence.
Shale has been seen in His Girl Friday at the National Theatre and Frost/Nixon at both the Donmar Warehouse and the West End's Gielgud Theatre. She also appeared in the original company of Bar Mitzvah Boy.
Walter's stage appearances include Habeas Corpus, As You Like It, Noises Off, and The 39 Steps, as well as Peter Nichol's Lingua Franca in both London and New York.
