Simon Callow Wins Sheridan Morley Prize for My Life in Pieces

Simon Callow has won the Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography for My Life in Pieces, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. The £2,000 prize, established in 2008, is given for the best biography, autobiography or diary in theater or show business from the preceding year in honor of biographer Sheridan Morley.

The other nominees for this year’s award, as previously reported, were Stephen Sondheim’s Finishing the Hat, and Putting It On: The West End Theatre of Michael Codron, by Codron and Alan Strachan, Christopher Stevens’ Born Brilliant — The Life of Kenneth Williams, and Mike Bradwell’s The Reluctant Escapologist, which looks at Fringe Theater.


The jury for this year’s prize is comprised of director Richard Eyre, actress Sian Phillips and Evening Standard editor Geordie Greig.
