Helena Blackman, Daniel Boys, Michael Bruce, et al. Set for Appearances at the Delfont Room

Jonathan Ansell and Daniel Boys will join Helena Blackman as she celebrates the release of her new CD, The Sound of Rodgers & Hammerstein, with a concert at the Delfont Room on February 13. The album will be released by Speckulation Entertainment on February 14.

The 12-track recording, as previously announced, features the singer delivering such classics as “I Enjoy Being a Girl,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Climb Every Mountain.” In addition, Ansell and Boys are featured on the disc, joining Blackman for duets of “I Have Dreamed” and “People Will Say We’re in Love,” respectively.

Blackman came to prominence as the runner up on the BBC’s search for a female lead for the West End revival ofThe Sound of Music, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?. Among her stage credits are a UK tour of South Pacific, and the West End premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s Saturday Night.

In related news, it has also been announced that composer Michael Bruce will celebrate his self-titled The Michael Bruce Album with a concert at the Delfont Room on March 20, which will also feature Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer. In addition, Spicer return to the venue for a May 15, as his disc, Love Songs & Lullabies, is released.
