London’s Finborough Theatre continues to mark its 30th anniversary this year with Vibrant 2010 – An Anniversary Festival of Finborough Playwrights (May 25 – June 19). This Festival will feature 30 new works by 30 different UK and international playwrights, including Naomi Wallace, Brian Logan, Chris Dunkley, and Bekah Brunstetter. In addition to staged readings of plays by these and other writers to be announced, the Festival will feature a full production of James Graham’s The Man, which will feature a different actor, who will tell a story in an order selected at random, every night.

The spring season will also include the London premiere of The Notebook of Trigorin (March 30 – April 24), Tennessee Williams’ ‘adaptation’ of Chekhov’s The Seagull. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov, the production will be complemented by Three Seagulls, a series of staged readings running on consecutive Saturdays (April 10-24). The theater will also give Harold Brighouse’s The Northerners (April 4-19) its London premiere. Two plays set in South Africa follow: Craig Higginsons’ Dream of the Dog (April 27 – May 22), starring Academy Award nominee Janet Suzman, and Jack Klaff’s Nagging Doubt (May 2-17).
