David Lan will direct a revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone for London’s Young Vic Theatre, to run May 27 – July 3. Casting for the production will be announced at a later date.

Part of Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh cycle, the work is set in the year 1911 and tells the story of a man who finds himself in an unusual Pittsburgh boarding house on a journey north.

Lan is artistic director of the Young Vic and has directed productions such as A Raisin in the Sun, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Doctor Faustus, The Daughter-in-Law, and The Skin of Our Teeth for the company.

The creative team for the production will include Patrick Burnier (production design), Mike Gunning (lighting design), and Gareth Fry (sound design).
