Anita Harris to Star in G & I Going into Battle with Gertrude Lawrence at New End Theatre

Anita Harris will play Gertrude Lawrence in the world premiere of Anton Burge’s G & I Going into Battle with Gertrude Lawrence, to play the New End Theatre, in Hampstead, April 8-May 3.

This musical comedy is set in the spring of 1944. Gertrude Lawrence, a star on both sides of the Atlantic, flies in from America to rehearse for an ENSA managed tour to entertain the British and American troops fighting in Europe, and must also tackle her own personal demons.

Harris is a multi-award winning singer, actress and entertainer. Her stage credits include My Cousin Rachel, Steppin’ Out, Bell Book and Candle, House of Stairs, and Cats. Film credits include Carry on Doctor, Follow that Camel, and Remember Jack Buchanan.
