Tricycle Theatre Announces Spring ’08 Season

The Tricycle Theatre has announced its spring 2008 season with works by David Edgar, Dylan Thomas, Ron Hutchinson, and others.

The season opens with David Edgar’s latest play, Testing the Echo, to be directed by Matthew Dunster, April 1-May 3. The cast will feature Teresa Banham, Kirsty Bushell, Sushil Chudasama, Farzana Dua Elahe, Ian Dunn, Robert Gwilym, Syrus Lowe and Sirine Saba. The creative team will include Paul Wills (set design), Philip Gladwell (lighting design), and Ian Dickinson (sound design).

Next up, Sally Knyvette directs a company of professional barristers, solicitors, and judges in Christopher Sergel’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, May 7-10. The cast will feature Sir Michael Burton, High Court Judge, Royal Courts of Justice and Grahame Gordon, Solicitor/Senior Partner of Lowe & Gordon Seminars and many others.

Malcolm Taylor will direct Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, May 12 -24, which captures twenty-four hours in Llareggub, an imaginary, small seaside town in south Wales.

Ron Hutchinson’s Topless Mum, May 28 -June 28, is a topical satire on tabloid journalism, to be directed by Caroline Hunt.

The Tricycle will also present Muju Upstarts Festival, March 2, a festival of theatre, film, food, art, comedy, and music by artists from Muslim and Jewish backgrounds.

The Tricycle will also host a special fundraising event for Reprieve and the Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture featuring special guests Clive Stafford-Smith, Vanessa Redgrave, Philippe Sands QC, and Mark Thomas, May 18.
