Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Tony Kushner Up for 2013 BAFTAs

When it premiered on Broadway, Les Miserables swept the Tony Awards. Will it sweep the BAFTAs as well?
Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation of the beloved musical racked up a total of nine nominations for the annual British honor, including Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Leading Actor (Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman’s warbling Jean Valjean) and Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway’s good-natured prostitute, Fantine).
Jackman, who received Broadway’s biggest honor for his star-turn in The Boy From Oz, and Hathaway, who appeared in the Public Theater’s critically acclaimed 2009 production of Twelfth Night, join a long list of stage veterans up for the prestigious honor, including Beauty Queen of Leenane scribe Martin McDonagh (for his Seven Psychopaths), Angels in America Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner (for his Lincoln screenplay), and actors Jessica Chastain (The Heiress) for Zero Dark Thirty, two-time Tony nominee Helen Mirren (Dance of Death) for Hitchcock, three-time Tony nominee Philip Seymour Hoffman (Death of a Salesman) for The Master, Tony winner Dame Judi Dench (Peter and Wendy) for Skyfall, Bradley Cooper (Three Days of Rain) for Silver Linings Playbook, and Amy Adams (Into the Woods) for The Master.
The BAFTA winners will be announced on February 10.
