Soho Theatre Announces 2012 Spring Season

London’s Soho Theatre has announced the productions for its 2012 Spring season, according to WhatsOnStage.com. There will be a total of 50 new shows spread out amongst the Soho’s three performance spaces.

In the Main House, productions will include Michael Chaplin’s A Walk on Part: The Fall of New Labour (March 21-April 14), a stage adaptation of the political diaries of Chris Mullin, co-produced with the Live Theatre, starring John Hodgkinson, and directed by Max Roberts. Next will be Swamp Juice (April 17-May 5), written and performed by Jeff Achtem.

Headlong’s production of Ella Hickson’s Boys (May 31-June 16) will transfer to the Soho, directed by Robert Icke. The final Main House production will be a commissioned program of short plays entitled Utopia, to first be performed at Live Theatre May 31-June 16, and then transferring to Soho, June 20-July 14.

In the Upstairs space will be new plays from such artists as Third Angel, Kali Theatre, Deafinitely Theatre, Cartoon De Salvo, the Wrong Crowd, Dirty Stop-Out and Menagerie Theatre.

The Downstairs space will feature comedy and cabaret by the likes of Adam Riches, Ursula Martinez, Tindersticks, Late Night Gimp Fight, Greg Proops, Lord Buckley, Imran Yusuf and Nick Helm.
