Casting has been announced for the West End production of Richard Bean’s One Man, Two Guvnors and its previously announced transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Nicholas Hytner has directed the production, which will begin performances in its new home on March 2.

Based on Carlo Goldini’s The Servant of Two Masters, the comedy explores what happens when Francis Henshall agrees to work for a local gangster as well as a criminal in hiding, both of whom are linked in a tangled web of schemes and romantic associations, which Francis cannot keep straight.

The company will star the previously reported Owain Arthur as Francis, along with Jodie Prenger as Dolly, Hannah Spearritt as Pauline, Martin Barrass as Alfie, David Benson as Gareth, Nigel Betts as Harry, Derek Elroy as Lloyd, Gerard Horan as Charlie, Daniel Ings as Alan, Ben Mansfield as Stanley and Gemma Whelan as Rachel. Complete ensemble casting will be announced shortly.

The creative team includes production designer Mark Thompson, lighting designer Mark Henderson, and sound designer Paul Arditti. In addition, the production features choreography by Adam Penford, songs songs by Grant Olding, and physical comedy direction by Cal McCrystal.

Also, as previously announced, One Man, Two Guvnors will play Broadway’s Music Box Theatre, with its original star, James Corden.
