Joe Absolom, Natalie Casey, Jill Halfpenny to Star in MIke Leigh’s Abigail’s Party

Full casting has been announced for Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party, to play the Menier Chocolate Factory, March 2-April 21 and Theatre Royal Bath, april 23-28. Lindsay Posner will direct.

In the play, set in 1970’s suburbia, Beverly and her husband Laurence are hosting a drinks party for their neighbours. As prejudices are unmasked and tempers flare, the evening can only end in disaster.

In addition to the previously reported Jill Halfpenny as Beverly, the cast will include Joe Absolom as Tony, Natalie Casey as Angela, Susannah Harker as Susan and Andy Nyman as Laurence.

The production will feature set and costumes designed by Mike Britton, lighting design by Howard Harrison, and sound design by Fergus O’Hare.
