Sue Holderness, Lesley Joseph, Ruth Madoc et al. Set for UK Tour of Calendar Girls

Casting has been announced for the second leg of the 2011 UK Tour of Calendar Girls, which will open at the Swan High Wycombe on April 18. Jack Ryder has directed the production.

Written by Tim Firth (from the screenplay he wrote for the 2003 film), the play tells the story of a group of ordinary women who do something extraordinary and spark a global phenomenon when they persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference.

The cast will include Lesley Joseph as Miss October, Sue Holderness as Miss February, Ruth Madoc as Marie – the Head of the W’, Kathryn Rooney as Miss September, Deena Payne as Miss July, Helen Fraser as Miss January, Camilla Dallerup as Elaine, Kasey Ainsworth as Miss November, with Kevin Sacre as photographer Lawrenceand Colin Tarrant as John.

The production features a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Tim Lutkin, costumes by Jack Galloway and music by Steve Parry.

Additional tour stops will include De Montfort Hall Leicester, New Theatre Cardiff, Hawth Crawley, Civic Theatre Darlington, Festival Theatre Malvern, Truro Hall, New Theatre Hull, Arts Theatre Cambridge, Princess Theatre Torquay, Congress Theatre Eastbourne, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Lyceum Sheffield, and Pavilion Bournemouth.
