Maria Friedman to Sign New CD at London’s Dress Circle on April 10

Maria Friedman will sign copies of her new CD, Maria Friedman Celebrates the Great British Songbook at London’s Dress Circle on April 10. The disc will be released by Sepia Records in the U.K. and the U.S. on April 13.

Based on a concert that the singer first performed at Shaw Theatre during the Feinstein’s At The Shaw season in February 2009, the 15-track disc includes such songs as “If Love Were All,” “As If We Never Said Goodbye,” and “What Kind of Fool Am I?” as well as medleys of “Georgy Girl” and “Downtown;” “The Boy in the Gallery” and “Mad About the Boy;” and “Norwegian Wood” and “Eleanor Rigby.” Jason Carr has arranged and serves as musical director for the album.

Friedman’s many stage credits include The Witches of Eastwick, The Woman in White, Chicago, Lady in the Dark, Passion, Ragtime and Sunday in the Park with George, as well as numerous solo concerts in London and the United States.
