Eileen Atkins, Simon Russell Beale, Harriet Walter, et al. Set for Jubilee for Anton Chekhov

Eileen Atkins, Simon Russell Beale, William Boyd, Tom Burke, Lisa Dillon, Richard Eyre, William Fiennes, Michael Frayn, David Hare, David Horovitch, Steve McNeil, Miriam Margolyes, Rosamund Pike, Lynne Truss, Harriet Walter, and Penelope Wilton will be among the participants in Jubilee for Anton Chekhov, a series of fundraising events at London’s Hampstead Theatre, January 18-23. Michael Pennington and Rosamund Bartlett will serve as co-hosts.

The series will raise money to help restore and preserve the White Dacha, Anton Chekhov’s home in Yalta where he wrote Three Sisters and The Cherry Orchard. It will feature performances of scenes from Chekhov’s plays and readings from his works, as well as a new piece from Frayn, which has been developed from Chekhov’s short plays and short stories.
