Donmar Streetcar Named Desire Wins South Bank Show Award

The Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire has won the South Bank Show Award for theater.

The production was directed by Rob Ashford and starred Rachel Weisz (Blanche DuBois), Elliot Cowan (Stanley Kowalski), and Ruth Wilson (Stella). As previously reported, Weisz has been honored for her work in the production with a Critics’ Circle Award and an Evening Standard Award.

The other nominees for the 2010 South Bank Show Award in the theater category were Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem and Alan Bennett’s The Habit of Art.
