HBO to Air Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On on December 31

HBO will air Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On at 9pm on December 31.

The 70-minute show, which began its run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February 2008, features Midler’s incomparable humor and musical selections. Songs that may be included will be “The Rose,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “From a Distance,” “Hello in There,” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.”

Midler starred on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof and has appeared on the Great White Way in numerous other productions. She won a special Tony Award in 1974. She is also a producer of the musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which will bow on Broadway in 2011.

She is also a three-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Academy Award nominee. In addition, Midler starred in the CBS-TV version of the musical Gypsy.
